(Catching Up) R.D.C. goes to the Detroit Historical Museum and More!

Hello everyone. I have several blog posts that are waiting to be posted, but I am in Lakewood, NJ for the next few days without any web access. I'll try to post what I can though.

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

The girls were invited to the Detroit Historical Museum with the Britvans, which worked out nicely. They got to have a great time, and I had a chance to take care of a few errands.

It turns out that the Detroit Historical Museum is having an exhibit called, “From Haven to Home: Jewish Life in America” with all kinds of Jewish artifacts on display. Rivky took lots of pictures with her camera and here are some of the better or more interesting shots.

Here is a picture of the Jewish version of the Cat in the Hat (whatever that means):

And Rivky thought this top piece to an Aron Kodesh was interesting:

Bassi took a picture of Rivky by this big clock:

And here are the girls in historical Old Detroit:

Here are Bassi and Rivky with the Britvan girls:

There was also an exhibit called, “Hero or Villain? Metro Detroit's Legacy of Leadership”. So Bassi posed by the entrance to the exhibit:

And for those that have been to the Museum any time in the past 100 years will remember the Lionel train exhibit:

And one last pose in the historical old Detroit section (the basement level with the cobblestone streets):

When Rochi got home from work, we went to the Secretary of State to renew our plates. Waiting in line was the same as always, but not too bad. They actually redid the office and made it nicer:

We finished our day with a trip to DSW with the girls. For anyone reading this that has not seen DSW, it's pretty impressive for a shoe store. Here is Bassi trying some shoes:

One of the things the girls like to do is to try on the funniest shoes they can find. Here is Rivky modeling a pair of fluorescent pink heels. I think they go perfectly with her socks - she looks like the Wicked Witch of the West:

That's about it. Thanks for reading and enjoy the photos!
